Sea Holly by Susie Hamilton
Found along the coastline nestled amongst the sand dunes, Sea Holly blooms all summer long. Their faded leaves and soft mauves are beautifully gentle, despite their prickles.
Sea Holly was used as a love potion in Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor and the Victorians believed that bringing it into their homes would resolve conflicts and restore peace among the family.
Painted using gauche acrylic on watercolour paper.
My cards are made using high grade 300 gsm artist’s card from sustainable forests. The brown eco-envelopes are made from 100% recycled paper.
