The crocus is one of the very first flowers of the year to bloom and its message is one of joy as we celebrate the return of spring.
Just as we thought winter was never going to end - a crocus appears, then another, and another, until it’s a sea of crocuses!
I tried to capture the contrast between the crocus’s pale and watery stems and its vivid saffron threads, with the flowers coming out from the darkness and into the light, with the cup of new beginnings sharing hope and happiness for the future.
Beautifully printed on sustainably sourced, high quality 350gsm museum grade paper.
Prints are available in three sizes as follows:
